How to acquire your own sculpture?

Frequently asked questions

How do I know I’ll love the custom sculpture you make for me?

By the time you commission a work from Mainartery, you’re typically fully committed to the
style and concepts behind the work. We don’t move from one stage to the next without
full approval. Our approach has consistently turned the occasional reservation into expectation
and delight when clients grasp our ability to understand their needs.

How easy is it to work with you if I’m interstate or overseas?

Many of my (our) projects are for interstate or international clients. Communications technology makes it easy not only to talk, but also to exchange visuals and virtual mock-ups of the sculpture in development, and how it will look in your location. Where substantial and valuable works are involved, the commissioning process often benefits from an initial face-to-face meeting to cement early agreement on the scope of the project, as well as a site visit during installation.

How can I be confident that a sculpture will look and feel right in my space?

We show you detailed images of our designs and sculptures, and immerse you in a full and engaged understanding of the work you wish to acquire. We also offer a service that digitally overlays your sculpture onto photos of your proposed installation location for an accurate sense of the style and scale of the work in your surroundings.

How do you handle installation of the work?

We take responsibility for advice or actual installation whenever it is required. Smaller to medium sized sculptures usually stand on their own plinth and base. Larger works may require setting foundations or special fixings dependent on its final location. Even if we are not involved in the final installation, we often lend a consultative eye to our client’s contractor.

Do you guarantee safe delivery?

We pay meticulous attention to the handling and transport of your artwork. Our packaging is designed to withstand the most severe conditions, including falls. We also use trusted, specialist couriers. For extra peace of mind, we recommend appropriate transit insurance.

How do you guarantee your quality?

Our sculptures are made using the best processes and grades of materials so they can become legacies for the future. Providing the sculpture’s installation environment is fit for our recommendations, and that our scheduled minor preventive maintenance is upheld, there is no reason why your sculpture will not outlive you and several generations beyond.

What is your refund and return policy?

We’ve yet to receive a refund or return request in 28 years. However, in the event that you are not totally satisfied with a purchase from our range, we offer a full refund, minus packaging and shipping costs, or a credit towards another artwork.

Description

In addition to its rooftop pool and 24-hour fitness centre, Melbourne’s 4-star 432-room Crown Plaza hotel provides a range of event spaces in which people can get together either to relax or collaborate.

Situated at the heart of the city on the bank of the Yarra River, the hotel has been designed to cater to nine-to-five working and living.

So, while art and culture are not central to the Crown Plaza experience, they are elements that can be profitably worked into the overall design, elements moreover that fit in with Melbourne’s status as a cultural capital.

Harnessing the power of art to uplift and enrich, Mainartery selected and installed a range of sculptures for Crown Plaza that both harmonized with the architecture while creating a series of visual surprises for visitors.

Sometimes formal, sometimes playful, the artworks provide opportunities for the visitor’s eye to rest, thus enhancing boutique spaces and functional areas alike.

It’s about destination engineering. It’s about getting the mix right.

Cultivating an Experience—Getting the Mix Right for Enriched Guest Stays

Crown Plaza Melbourne, a four-star hotel of 432 rooms along the Yarra River, caters to the city’s professional and leisurely crowds. While it offers a rooftop pool, 24-hour fitness center, and flexible event spaces, the intangible value of art also shapes the overall atmosphere. “Cultivating an Experience” explains how the installation of a creative ribbon art stainless sculpture and other curated works can boost the guest’s emotional connection to the venue. The goal? To complement functional design with moments of artistic surprise that make each visit memorable.

Attention-Grabbing Sculpture—Hassle-Free Installation That Respects Brand Aesthetics

One advantage of working with a reputable artisan network is the promise of a smooth, low-risk installation process. Crown Plaza Melbourne needed pieces that aligned with its architectural features and the city’s cultural flair—Melbourne is recognized as an artistic capital, so the hotel’s ambiance should echo that creativity. By collaborating with Mainartery, the hotel integrated sculptures carefully chosen to match hallways, lounge areas, and even communal corners where guests gather. Each piece, such as a hotel art stainless sculpture with whimsical ribbon-like curves, invites the eye to pause—an important break from an otherwise businesslike environment.

Rather than overshadowing brand identity, these sculptures refine it, meshing with the comfortable yet cosmopolitan vibe Crown Plaza fosters. Because they’re well-planned, these additions don’t disrupt the busy 9-to-5 or corporate schedule, avoiding major downtime. The result is a layered environment where guests can appreciate both practicality and imaginative touches.

Enriching the Guest’s Experience—Formal and Playful Varieties

“Cultivating an Experience” highlights how the artistry covers various styles: sometimes formal to emphasize the hotel’s upscale prestige, other times playful to spark curiosity and lighten the atmosphere. This curated mix shapes a subtle “destination engineering”—engaging visitors and encouraging them to explore. By placing an uplifting stainless steel ribbon near a high-traffic hallway, for instance, Crown Plaza ensures each day’s routine crossing becomes an aesthetically stimulating moment.

Guests checking in may note these sculptures immediately, forming a positive first impression that resonates throughout their stay. As they move through meeting rooms, bar areas, or fitness centers, glimpses of sculpture reinforce a sense of continuity and mindful design. Returning travelers might anticipate discovering something new—an updated arrangement, a newly unveiled piece—enlivening the sense that the hotel remains connected to Melbourne’s cultural pulse.

This approach also underscores the power of sculptural integration in hospitality, beyond mere visual appeal. A well-chosen piece can soften transitional zones, providing a conversation starter or a spot for a casual photo. It channels restful energy to spaces that might otherwise be transitional or underutilized. Over time, guests recall not just a comfortable bed or serviceable meeting room, but the distinctive brushstrokes of style that set the property apart.

Ultimately, “Cultivating an Experience” reveals the subtlety of forging emotional resonance in a hotel environment. Through collaboration with skilled artisans and strategic placements, Crown Plaza Melbourne proves that blending art with architecture can elevate the daily guest journey. Whether through a playful swirl in stainless steel or a formal statement piece in a lounge, art fosters brand identity, enhances relaxation, and seeds cultural conversation—elements all vital to forging a memorable, return-worthy stay.
